The Oyster and Trad Festival

May Bank Holiday Weekend

Fresh oysters and a pint of Guinness or a glass of Champagne! Music and dance in the marquee! All this is in the beautiful village of Carrigaholt!!

The shores at the mouth of the Shannon are excellent growing areas for the most sought after oysters in the world. Come and sample them each year at the beginning of May and enjoy the succulent taste of the freshest seafood known. Oysters, Guinness, Champagne, music and dance...what could be better?

Additions Proved Successful
In 2008 the Theme of the Festival changed to included Traditional Irish Music throughout the weekend. In total there were in excess of twenty different 'Sessions' during the weekend, with musicians from all over the County coming to take part in the open sessions.

The Family Festival

2nd to last weekend in August

This family festival has it all! Donkey Derby, Sheaf throwing, tug-o-war, children's fancy dress and sports day, horse-shoe throwing, the list is endless... plenty of craic and lots of ceoil!

What better way to end the Summer in Carrigaholt Village with your Family and Friends!
